DHM works to make quality healthcare more accessible to those in need. Healthcare facilities are inadequate or non-existent in remote areas and isolated villages in Nigeria. We are building a Divine Hope Health Center in Umume-Obodoukwu, Imo State. Its purpose will be to provide the following:
- Essential medical services, including primary, secondary, and tertiary care
- Crucial mental health and counseling services
- Emergency and first aid health services
- Medication to those in need (free to those who cannot afford to pay and subsidized to those who can afford to pay)
- Basic information on prevention, wellness, and health-related topics.
The Divine Hope Health Center will also serve as a home base for Divine Hope Medical Missions and outreach health programs. When finished, the health center will also host a pharmacy, a maternity clinic, a diagnostic laboratory, an eye clinic, and a nutrition and wellness education program.
Practical Skills Training Programs + Advocacy
Our practical skills training programs are aimed at helping individuals become self-sufficient. They focus on people deprived of education and training, which prevents them from finding employment opportunities that could enable them to care for themselves and their families.
Our activities encompass:
- Workshops
- Training
- Opportunities for education on sociocultural factors that hinder healthy living in a community
From individuals to families to generations, we are helping to rebuild lives and spread the light of hope.
Food Program
Many people who live below the poverty line in isolated villages in Nigeria find it difficult to access adequate food supplies. These individuals and families don’t have access to healthy, quality food for themselves or their families. Many of them, particularly the children, suffer from malnutrition and other health difficulties.
Our food programs involve distributing food supplies to individuals and families lacking the resources or have limited means to feed themselves and their families.
